The heart and soul of the W.E.B. DuBois Learning Center!
Volunteer service is the foundation of the W.E.B. DuBois Learning Center and for more than 45 years, a wide cross-section of Kansas City's local community has come together to deliver services to more than 250 students each week. The Center relies on volunteers at the program level, as well as the operational level. Because role modeling is critical in and out of the classroom, we look for volunteers who have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to make healthy connections with students and adults.
We also welcome volunteers to help support general operations including fund development, marketing, community relations, project and construction management, social media and website management.
If you are interested in learning more, please plan to attend a volunteer information session, held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Information sessions last about one hour and provide an opportunity for you to learn about the organization, commitment needed and available service opportunities.
If you are not able to attend, but are interested in serving, please contact us and we are happy to make arrangements to schedule a time more convenient for your schedule.
